A song of ascents. Indeed, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who stand and serve by night in the House of the Lord. Since sacrifices were not brought at night, this verse may be referring to individuals who would come regularly to the Temple at night to stand before God in devotion or to pray.
Lift up your hands toward the Sanctuary and bless the Lord.
The concluding verse offers a blessing for all of Israel: The Lord who made heaven and earth will bless you from Zion.
