Many prophets arose over the generations, but the prophecies of only a few of them were included in the Bible.

Many prophets arose for the Jewish people, double the number of Israelites who left Egypt. Nevertheless, only a prophecy that was necessary for future generations was written in the Bible, but one that was not necessary for future generations was not written in the Bible. (Megilla 14a)
