Boards for the Tabernacle

The Israelites were commanded to construct the Tabernacle while they were in the wilderness. Where did they find large-enough wooden boards with which to build it? Jacob, on his way to Egypt, instructed his sons to plant trees for that eventual purpose.

From where were the boards? Jacob our patriarch planted the trees that produced them when he descended to Egypt. He said to his sons: My sons, in the future you will be redeemed from Egypt, and the Holy One, blessed be He, will say to you in the future, after you will be redeemed, that you shall construct the Tabernacle. Rise and plant cedars even now, so that at the time that He tells you to make the Tabernacle, the cedars will be prepared for you. Immediately, they rose and planted the trees. (Tanĥuma, Teruma)
