My Handiwork Is Drowning in the Sea

God prevented the angels from singing a song of praise when the Egyptians were drowning in the sea, as they, too, are His handiwork.

And Rabbi Yohanan said: What is the meaning of that which is written: “And the one came not near the other all the night” (Exodus 14:20)? The ministering angels wanted to sing their daily song of praise, but the Holy One, blessed be He, said: My handiwork is drowning at sea, and you are singing songs? (Megilla 10b)
