The month of Adar invites us to become stronger in our connection to God, and through the great joy of this month we are able to achieve greater holiness.

Adar [represents] strengthening, as it is written: “The Lord is mighty [adir] on high” (Psalms 93:4)…and the name of this month that is called Adar teaches that it is a time of becoming stronger, and of Israel’s yearning for their Father in Heaven. [Coming closer to Him] is possible only through joy, as the Sages said: “When Adar begins, there is extra rejoicing” (Ta’anit 29a). Through this joy we increase holiness.
